Commission on the Way Forward

At the 2016 General Conference, a 32-member Commission was appointed by the Council of Bishops to examine paragraphs in The Book of Discipline concerning human sexuality exploring options to strengthen the unity of the church. This Commission has submitted its report to the Council of Bishops, offering three possible plans to guide a way forward. The Council of Bishops is recommending one of those plans, called the One Church Plan. It is the only one that addresses the issue without schism or major restructuring of the global Church.
